Citrocid magnesium plus is mainly indicated to inhibit calcium oxalate stones crystal aggregation, which is due to excessive dietetic oxalate ( exogenous) or as a result of end products of metabolism (endogenous) . Magnesium ions inhibit crystal growth of calcium oxalate by precipitating exogenous dietetic oxalates, and so it inhibits its absorption through G.I.T . Citrate ions, inhibit formation of calcium containing crystals by chelating it . Pyridoxine hydrochloride plays an important part in the prevention of genetic or primary hyperoxaluria which is characterized biochemically by continued excretion of oxalic acid in urine and clinically by calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis and nephrocalcinosis . Generally , we can say, vitamin B6 inhibits the formation of metabolic endogenous hyperoxaluria. Indications & usage : For prevention of hyperoxaluria and as a mild laxative.
