Composition:
Each tablet contains:
Vitamin B1 15 mg
Vitamin B2 12 mg
Vitamin B6 8 mg
Vitamin B1 2 0.003 mg
Calcium pantothenate. 20 mg
Nicotinamide 40 mg.
Properties:
Vitacid-B-complex combines four factors of vitamin B complex: B1 , B2,B6 and B12 which are essential for performance of normal metabolism and for proper functioning of the living cells.
Vitamin B1 (thiamine) & Vitamin B2 ( riboflavin ) forms the coenzyme cocarboxylase which has an important role in carbohydrate metabolism. It catalyses the decarboxylation of pyruvic acid and other ketoacids.
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) acts as a coenzyme in protein, fat and carbohydrate metabolism as well as haemoglobin synthesis. It has an important role in decarboxylation, deamination, transamination and trans-sulfuration of aminoacids.
Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamine) is essential to growth, cell reproduction, hematopoiesis, and nucleoprotein and myelin synthesis so its deficiency result in neurological damage also vitamin B12 has the main role in folic acid activation.
Also, vitamin B12 is associated with fat and carbohydrate metabolism and protein synthesis. Its deficiency results in megaloblastic anemia, GI lesions, and neurologic damage
Nicotinamide & calcium pantothenate is an other members in vitamin B complex. Indications & usage:
Treatment of vitamin B states which may include:
Beriberi: due to vitamin B1 deficiency which may be related to cardiovascular or nervous system.
Vitamin B6 deficiency either due to inadequate diet or isoniazed therapy or use of oral contraceptives.
Sideroblastic anemia (idiopathic, acquired or hereditary).
Megaloblastic anemia.
Diabetic polyneuropathy, acute and chronic neuritis, optic neuritis, and other states related to neurologic damage.
Treatment of neuritis of pregnancy.
As vitamin supplement in certain states that need vitamins in excess of normal as (pregnancy, hemolytic anemia, hemorrhage, malignancy, hepatic and renal disease). Contra-indications:
Known hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation. Side effects:
Hypersensitivity reactions may rarely occur after vitamin B injection.
Mild transient diarrhea. Drug interactions:
Pyridoxine may antagonize the effect of Levodopa. Dosage & administration:
One tablet 2-3 times daily or as directed by the physician. Packing:
